Founded in 2008 to scout, develop, and market new independent talent, Block Starz Music LLC is the leading digital hip-hop label in America and boasts the second most visited urban label website in the country behind RocNation. Our catalog includes independent releases by Machine Gun Kelly, Rhymefest, and Fashawn as well as songs featuring Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Raheem DeVaugn, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. Block Starz Music has a diverse roster of new and established Rap, Rock, Pop, and R&B recording acts and recently began distributing other independent and artist run labels.

Compilation Series

Block Starz Music LLC's critically-acclaimed compilation series is designed as a career launch pad for new independent artists that our A&R staff believe have the potential of breaking through the industry “white noise” and gaining more than their fair share of attention and opportunity.

Each year Block Starz Music releases 4-5 installments of its compilation series through online retailers like Amazon, iTunes, Napster, and Rhapsody, but also through aggressive physical product campaigns targeting local retailers, regional events, and artist performances.

The goal of each BSM compilation is to feature musicians who spend time focused on artistic excellence and have the potential to be truly remarkable with the right promotional support.

Block Starz Music LLC now has (3) openings for entry level Promotions Representatives to conduct media inquiries and solicitations on behalf of our artists, events, and releases. Other responsibilities include the development of strategic partnerships and representing our company at industry events.

Block Starz Music LLC occasionally signs promising independent artists/labels to digital distribution joint ventures and management agreements. Most of the artists/labels signed to our company are previous Block Starz Music promotional clients and/or have been featured one of our compilation releases.
